Python Trial class for kids 6-9 years old
Talking Computer with print() and input()
In the program of the event:
01
Write their first real Python commands
02
Interact with the computer using questions and answers
03
Understand basic coding structure
Who will love it:
Those who ask “how do computers understand us?”
Early learners who love cause-and-effect games
Parents who want a fun, future-ready intro to real programming
Does your child love asking questions, playing pretend, or talking to Siri?
In this trial class, they’ll create their very first Python program — a talking computer that greets the user and asks fun questions! No experience needed.
What Kids Will Do in the Class:
- Open a friendly beginner coding tool (EduBlocks or Trinket)
- Learn how to tell the computer to “say” things using print()
- Add simple user input like asking for the user's name
- Create a fun dialogue with computer
- Customize responses to make it funny or silly
By the end of the class, kids will have created a short interactive Python conversation that runs in real time. They’ll walk away amazed that they wrote real code and made the computer “talk back.”
